In 1996, William C. Christie, M.D. had an inspiration to expand the medical practice of Scott & Christie and Associates. He wanted to embark on medical missions in third-world countries. In conjunction with medical school colleagues, he decided to assist in establishing a health center in Ghana, Africa. Today, the facility includes 35 beds, two operating rooms, a free-standing outpatient eye center and a complete medical staff.
In 2004 Doctor Christie established his own non-profit organization, Mission Vision, which expanded his efforts to other areas of Africa. Mission Vision serves as a hub to support other Christian-based medical missions. Last year, it was able to support the medical equipment and supply needs for a medical mission to Butere, Kenya. Currently Mission Vision is in the process of supporting another mission in Zimbabwe, Africa.
Mission Vision is a 501(c)3 organization.
